Packy's 50th Birthday party!!
The fun folks over at the Oregon Historical Society are hosting a celebration of Packy the pachyderm's 50th birthday -- and we're all invited!!
From the OHS website: "Free Admission! Oregon's favorite elephant Packy turns 50 this April! Join us as we kick off birthday celebrations for America’s oldest male Asian elephant. Enjoy a live musical performance by Sucker Creek Jazz Band at 11, then meet live animal guests from the Oregon Zoo and Zoo Teens. Learn about elephant habitats with a special display, and see some of the Packy artifacts in the OHS collection. At 1 PM, join Oregon Zoo Elephant Curator Bob Lee for a lecture and learn about what it takes to care for Packy and his friends. See a live art demonstration by Mexican folk artist Armondo Olveda, view an elegant origami elephant installation by artist Yuki Martin, and then try your hand at making your own origami pachyderm. And what birthday celebration would be complete without treats and balloons! Snack on elephant ears, old fashioned cotton candy and kettle corn, and take home your very own balloon creation. 7th Annual Camas Car Show & Rock ‘n’ Roll Night!
Historic downtown Camas is the place to be on Friday, July 6th! Not only is it their monthly First Friday open market, it's also their 7th Annual Camas Car Show! So, on top of all the locally handmade arts & crafts, live music and kids activities that will be on hand, classic & specialty car lovers will be in car-heaven, too!
Bring two cans of food to benefit the Camas Washougal Treasure House Food Bank and get a free raffle ticket! Raffle prizes will be drawn every half hour. The event is from 5pm-9pm, and Joe will be here from 5pm-8pm tonight!

JDRF Walk for the Cure!
Come out today and help Joe support the cause! The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is inviting everyone to join them in a "Walk for the Cure" of juvenile diabetes -- 20.8 million children and adults in the United States, or 7% of the population, have diabetes -- so children affected with diabetes can just get on with their lives.
The walk is at Oaks Amusement Park;
registration is at 9am; Joe will be here today from 9am-11:30am!

Yay! It's Applefest time again! That's Oregon Heritage Farms' annual celebration of all things apple -- and they know how to throw a party! There's always tons of fun stuff to get into with your family at Applefest, such as live music, a hay maze & a hay ride, a giant apple to jump in & an apple launcher, and face painting to name a few. A family owned business for over 25 years, Oregon Heritage Farms has downright perfected apple cider. They grow 10 varieties of apples, among other things.
